Biography

A Life Dedicated to Delta State

Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori is a Nigerian politician and administrator serving as Governor of Delta State since May 29, 2023. Born on June 19, 1963, in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area, he began his political career as a grassroots politician, serving as councillor and later Chairman of the Okpe Community before rising through the ranks of state government.

Elected to represent Okpe State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly in 2015, he was elected Speaker of the House in 2017 and re-elected for a second term in 2019, becoming the first lawmaker in Delta State's history to be elected Speaker for consecutive terms. That legislative experience became the foundation for his administrative success as governor.

In March 2023, he won the Delta State governorship election with a margin of over 360,000 votes, becoming the first person from Okpe to be elected governor and the state's 5th civilian leader since its creation in 1991. As governor, he introduced the MORE Agenda — a governance framework of Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security — which this movement is committed to carrying forward.
